Delightfully Squicked

You know, I really ought to stop saying and thinking things like 'Such-and-such really squicks me' or 'I'd never write a such-and-such', etc. Because everytime I make such a claim or declaration, something invariably comes along later to disqualify the statement. Without fail. >_<
(headdesks) Crikey. If my mind keeps getting nudged open like this, sooner or later my brains are going to fall out.
And what does UST stand for, anyway?

Date: 2005-04-12 09:37 pm (UTC)UST - Unresolved Sexual Tension. The subtext or chemistry in non-yaoi anime or tv shows, etc, that makes people start squeeing and declaring OTP! As far as I understand it, anyway. ~_^
I owe you much replies to your comments, and I will get to them, once I stop floating. And get supper and laundry done. Though it's rather hard to do supper and laundry while floating, though...

omg another David Usher fan. *_*
^_^ Thanks entirely to
UST - Unresolved Sexual Tension.
Ahhh. See, in my experience at work it means 'Underground Storage Tank', so...yes. I was wondering. ^_^
Though it's rather hard to do supper and laundry while floating, though...
Why yes, yes indeed; I rather imagine it would be...

Date: 2005-04-13 03:47 am (UTC)Given an opening, I pimp David Usher and Moist like I pimp Saiyuki. And when I find someone who might be open to both... oh you have no idea how they collide. I swear at least half of the song lyrics for Moist's "Machine Punch Through: The Singles", which I had thought were just amazing metaphors, work as literal commentaries on Saiyuki (even though they were written and released before any of the Saiyuki manga). Your Nii needs to listen to "Gasoline" and "Machine Punch Through" in particular. Meantime I have dibs on "Leave It Alone" for a surreal "Kenren reacting to Gojyo finding Gonou dying" fic. And then there are David Usher songs with titles like "Unholy, Dirty and Beautiful" and "Too Close to the Sun" and "Devil By My Side" and... I need to stop babbling now before I scare you away, maybe. Or scare myself.
I would love to read what you make out of Nii and Black Black Heart.
See, in my experience at work it means 'Underground Storage Tank', so...yes.
Hehe, too funny.
Why yes, yes indeed; I rather imagine it would be...
Yup, had to get out the sticky-boots.
And I love that icon of yours, too. *adjusts own sexy glasses* I actually have a theory that Tenpou's glasses are an affectation that he just wears for the sexy, since kami probably have perfect vision. And then karma decided to be ironic about it for all his subsequent reincarnations.

Date: 2005-04-13 04:04 am (UTC)So particularly funny, as I'm currently sitting here swearing up a storm and retyping every other word because my acrylic nails have grown too long.
Ahem.
Yes, I'm definitely interested in the music. And not ashamed to beg. http://www.yousendit.com/ works wonderfully. My email addy is on m'profile, if I could humbly ask that you might send anything you'd recommend. [/shamelessness]
(settles glasses into place) I have a weakness for glasses and spectacles. And I rather like your theory on Tenpou's.

I think the God of Sexy Glasses has smited (smitten? smote?) me for suggesting they're an affectation, because I can't see it... >.< squint squint... if it's a sekret that must be kept invisible to the uninitiated, you could email me at calendarfish@gmail.com to let me know?

Date: 2005-04-13 04:49 am (UTC)I'm an unabashed fan, now located 200 miles away from the source of all that good music. My old border hometown. ^_^ I first heard his stuff back in 1998, but between one thing and another, never got around to getting a single Moist album, much to my dismay. Even after seeing him live in Sarnia on his Morning Orbit tour back in 2001. *sheepish grin* So maybe your burns will tide me over until i can.
Yes i'm also a Saiyuki fanatic. Feel free to browse my LJ. ^_^ Nice to meetcha!

Unless of course you're not particularly keen on Goujun and Tenpou as a pair. Then never mind. ^_^;
Interesting speculations on the history of Dragons in the heavens of Minekura's Saiyukiverse, though.

Date: 2005-04-16 02:42 am (UTC)Please forgive me for the rambling, also - I spent the afternoon on the receiving side of a career-coaching table and I'm afraid a great deal of that positive go-get-ish-ness is still clinging to me. Which is a good thing, all considered, I suppose, and...yes. Shutting up now. ^_^;
