Inspired by one of my results from that 'What the hell happened last night?' meme. It's the sort of scene that would likely never happen, given Hakkai's legendary tolerance for alcohol; but...like I said. Pic wouldn't leave me alone.

Funny thing. I was searching a forum last night, and one of the topics was 'worst slash pairings'. Interestingly enough, Gojyo/Hakkai came up on the discussion as not part of the 'worst pairings' designation. Instead, nearly everyone who commented on it was in favor. Something about them being a fairly obvious one, however you manage to slice it. XD The only thing that bothered me was that when the "Gojyo's stopped picking up women" supporting argument came into play, it was NOT mentioned anywhere that he did get laid in, what, Gunlock 9?... But we'll ignore that. He he.

Date: 2004-08-20 07:36 pm (UTC)And it's funny, how I hear lots on the obviousness of Hakkai/Gojyo--and I totally agree, mind you--but I rarely see comments on the obviousness of Sanzo/Goku and to me, that's just as clearly hinted... And 39 seems to be the more popular fic pairing than 85, too. (shrug) Go figure.

Let me guess. "In the last manga I read" = volume 2. Hurrr... there's a bit more to the series than that... Gaiden, anyone? Oh, never mind. *good-natured sigh*
It's okay... everyone's free to think what they like, including the anti-slashers. But then, there's that manga-ka, of sometime yaoi fame... what's her name?

And Goku's officially billed as 18, people. No matter what age he acts. Besides, even if he wasn't, what's wrong with a little shotacon?
...I think that's the word, anyway... ^^

Anyway. Yup, Goku's 18. Doesn't really matter what he looks like, though I think he looks older in the manga. And about the shotacon... forsake not also the historical and cultural context. This takes place in, what, 7th century China? Ignoring the anachronisms, I'm pretty sure both homosexuality and what we consider paedophilia were both common. People often forget that things were different in other time periods. Or, if they choose to remember, they simply tack on their own values to the situation. "Gasp! They're male, nude and not ashamed of it! PURITAN CENSORSHIP POWER MAKE-UP!"
