Updatey that's been meaning to happen for at least a couple of weeks now. *sigh* Time flies.
The new job is going really well. It's different to be working in a room/dept that's all-male (first time in my career-life doing so), but I almost feel like I fit in better somehow. I'm enjoying it, the whole thing. It's...exciting, to do something different, to have a genuine interest in the job. ^_^
I will be in North Carolina at the end of this month (arriving the 27th, leaving Aug 2) for training. I could stress out over it quite easily if I let myself. But I've decided that I'm not going to let myself. The time there will actually be pretty fun, I'm thinking. The flight/lodging/car arrangements are made, so there's no point fretting over any of it. I can manage. *resolute*
I have also now been a puppy-mommy for a little over two weeks. I...he's cute, definitely; eight and 1/2 weeks old by now. And part Husky, which is a huge plus (my favorite breed, and one of the few perks of living in arctic climates). He's got the most intense blue eyes. I'll post pics up when I can get to them. But I wasn't particularly interested in having a dog. I go for scales more than fur, myself. AJ's been wanting one, though, and hubby as well, so I'm amiably out-voted. The neighbors across the street had a litter of 15, so we took one off their hands. Dad is half Siberian Husky, mom is half Basenji, they both have the blue-blue eyes, and the pups are all gorgeous. Like I said. Will post pics.
AJ named him Rocky, because 'he's the color of a rock'. Even though most rocks I see are grey, not strawberry-blond. There's no fathoming the logic of the six-yr-old mind. So Rocky it is. Though I find myself calling him Poopsie and Rocky-poo more than anything else. ^_^;
Still having my obsessive fannish love affair with all things Gaara, as well. Searching up art and LeeGaa fic and what-not. Hopefully with a bit of time and research I can find out who the artist is behind the icon. Good stuff. Mmm. Something about a character who exists just a little left of sanity and/or 'normal' that draws me. ^_^ Red-headed is just a bonus.
And ahh, Avatar. I'm a little somber to see it ended, but just very very happy with it overall. There's a possible opening for a sequel series, too, or perhaps that's just me thinking wishfully.
Ack. Goodnight. There's...at least one email I owe out; I'll hopefully get to it tomorrow.
Damn this song for being stuck in my head. I didn't mind it at first. It grows rather wearisome by now. T_T
