The answers to that lyric-meme I did 'round the end of March, for anyone who may have been curious once upon a time gods but I'm slow!:
1. Oh the wind and the rain and the salt and the spray have all captured my soul for a year and a day
Heather Alexander, 'Arms of the Sea'
2. Came in from the city, walked in through the door
Yaz, 'Don't Go'
3. She takes another step; slowly she opens the door
Savage Garden, 'Two Beds and a Coffee Machine'
4. I see trees of green, red roses too
Louis Armstrong, 'What a Wondeful World'
5. It's only when I lose myself in someone else that I find myself
Depeche Mode, 'Only When I Lose Myself'
6. I am lost - the footprints that I left have disappeared
Assemblage 23, 'Awake'
7. She sits alone, waiting for suggestions
The Revolting Cocks, covering Rod Stewart's 'Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?'
8. Gettin' born in the state of Mississippi
Red Hot Chili Peppers, 'Dani California'
9. Well outside my window there's a whole lotta trouble comin'
Skid Row, 'Monkey Business'
10. I wanted you to know I love the way you laugh
Seether, 'Broken'
11. Memories consume - like opening the wound, I'm picking me apart again
Linkin Park, 'Breaking the Habit'*
12. This is me for forever, one of the lost ones
Nightwish, 'Nemo'
13. I've never seen you looking so lovely as you did tonight
Chris deBurgh, 'Lady in Red'
14. We dared to ask for more, but that was long before the nights began to burn
Savatage, 'This Isn't What We Meant'
15. Hello me - meet the REAL me
Megadeth, 'Sweating Bullets'
And, in what might be an effort on my part to be a wee bit more social (but you'll not catch me actually admitting to it, mind), a meme that will require me to answer back and put abstract feely-thoughts into words:
a. Post a list of 10 fandoms.
b. Have your friends list guess your favorite character from each one.
c. When guessed, bold the line, include the character name, and write a sentence about why you like that character.
1. Saiyuki - Hakuryuu. Aside from the obvious dragon factor, I see a lot of Goujun still under the surface of Jiipu's unassuming 'pet' persona. It's that undercurrent of possibility that really gets me, I think, especially from a writing perspective. I just find him fascinating, and I'm very very drawn to him.
2. Saiyuki Gaiden - Goujun. Certainly he's got all that proud nobility and regality and honor and integrity about him, but I'm honest enough to admit it's entirely possible that my utter adoration for the man is mostly tied up in the fact that he's a dragon. And such a pretty one, at that. ^_^;
3. Star Trek: DS9 - Garak. He's got a lot of charm and appeal, and whole lot of multi-faceted draw underneath that surface, but I think the quality the might draw me most is his skill with words, his adeptness with language in general. He's got a razor-sharp wit and he's a master at the art of polite snark, and the way he speaks, the way he presents himself - I don't know that I'm really conveying what I mean, but it makes for a whole lot of awesomeness.
4. Pet Shop of Horrors
5. Naruto
6. Yami no Matsui
7. Avatar: The Last Airbender - Sokka. The kid's got heart. Being the only one in the gang without any bending ability could easily lead to feelings of inferiority, but he's good at not letting it get to him. He's quick-witted and entertaining and so very loveable. He goes a long way toward holding the group together and keeping them moving forward.
8. Stargate Atlantis
9. Gundam Wing - Wufei. There's a conflicted nobility to the kid that appeals to me. More than any of the other pilots, I think, he demonstrates the struggle between the boys they are and the men they're forced to be.
10. XMen
*This has become AJ's new-current favorite song, ever since he and I found a Megaman AMV on YouTube set to it. It's a little disturbing, on one level, to hear my little boy blithely singing along with lyrics that strike me as suicidal, and yet it's totally awesome on another level to hear my little boy singing along with MY music. He's become quite a Linkin Park fan, starting from this. Except for the ones with Bad Words. ^_^;

Date: 2008-05-13 09:08 am (UTC)I just spent a few happy minutes looking at your userpics and loving them. The Gundam Wing one is kind of obvious now that I look at it. Wufei?
I got lost in the world of pretty. I just need to ask, where was NiiKou Game from? I just can't place it in my memory. Was it from a doushinji?
And I just loved your fishmommy icon to bits. ^^

Date: 2008-05-22 06:08 am (UTC)Yes, 'tis Fei-fei. ^_^
The NiiKou Game icon is from a DJ, yeah. It's a teeny little five-page thing, called...Red something-or-other. I can send it to you, if you like.

3. Garak
4. Leon :)
5. ...holy crap, I didn't even know you were into this one! Er, Kakashi?
7. Sokka

Date: 2008-05-10 08:37 am (UTC)3. YES. Pretty good for a wild guess. ^_^
4. Mm, nope.
5. ...Probably because I never really talk about it. ^_^; Mostly I read KakaIru, and while I do love Kakashi to bits and pieces and utterly to death, he's not quite my absolute favorite. It's not Iruka, either, oddly enough.
7. Yep. Again, good guess!
