Oh for the love of--

...And here I'd thought I was done with this icon for the next few months. I should like very much to do grievous harm to the weather gods.
Those hopes mentioned last post, with regards to Spring? Consider them battered, falling back to cautiously regroup, and all but entirely dashed for the moment.
All goddamn day without pause, it has snowed now, great huge heavy wet flakes. This is just so f*cking peachy. It's nearly May, for chrissakes. -_-x
Elsewise, I am thoroughly frustrated with the fact that my husband's computer won't boot up - or rather, Windows won't start. There's some little glitchy error-or-other on some driver buried somewhere in the System32 files (or so the most enlightening of the error messages seems inclined to indicate), and the auto-repair feature on Vista, surprise surprise, isn't fixing the problem. Neither are any of the things I've tried after searching internet knowledge-base tech support sites. His brother had this issue also, and resolved it by completely re-installing Windows after hours upon hours of useless 'support' calls to Dell. There are a great many un-backed-up photos of Great Personal Importance on hubby's comp, however, and wiping them with a re-install is not high on the list of desireable options. If any techy-folk out there have any inklings of what might need to be done, I'd love to hear. There's a comp-repair place just up the road from us also that we'll probably be visiting.
AND, on top of all that, I've just remembered that I still haven't gotten ahold of the latest chapter of Gaiden and am still anxiously nail-biting as to how the Goujun-Kenren standoff cliffhanger carried on. I'm assuming Kenren still lives (not that I expected him to die quite yet or quite like that), as there hasn't been any uproarious mourning in fandom that I'm aware of, but I'm desperately curious to know how it did turn out. All the recent DS9 obsessing has been a nice distraction from the not-knowing, but still. I'm not too proud to beg a fix off friends. Any chance one of you who's got the post-standoff chapter (there hasn't been another yet, has there?) would be willing/able to hook me up? It'd go a long way to countering the snow-drifts piling outside m'window.

Date: 2008-04-26 02:46 pm (UTC)I believe the newest issue of Zero Sum has the newest chapter of Reload. I think I would have been ballistic about March if it weren't for the pretty artwork on the cover and a special insert mini plaque of chibi Seiten Taisei in a cherry tree, which is rather pretty. I went to all that trouble and money to get it ordered, bought, and sent, so if that hadn't been in there heads would have rolled.
So, the question is, is there another, newer chapter out there?

Date: 2008-04-26 03:16 pm (UTC)Given the state of Minekura's hands and assistants (or lack of same) one never knows whether there'll *be* an ep in the next issue. Same as you, I ordered March in advance from Kinokuniya because they take a month to deliver, and yup- no Gaiden. Is the breaks, but at $25 it hurts.
