Ahhh...yeah. ^_^;
Jul. 2nd, 2006 02:18 amOkay, sooo...that camping trip? Severly truncated. Primarily on account of not having packed warmly enough. Honestly, though - it's been many a year since hubby went camping and I just plain had no idea that long-johns and thermal blankets would actually be needed when camping for the Fourth of July weekend. -_-;
We'll just file this one under 'Learning Experiences', fall back and regroup, re-plan and re-strategize, and make another go of it come August.
Oh, and the 'eaten by a bear' remark last post? Should have read 'mosquitoes', instead. They seemed downright impervious to the repellant, too. Or perhaps the first application and all the subsequent re-applications were simply too diluted from being constantly rained on...
The day did have it's good points, though, and AJ did have a very good time, despite it all. Which was like 90% of the point of going, so...meh. Mission accomplished, for the most part.
And I do still take it as a good omen that the only open lot at the campground was number eight. ^_^
I'm totally zonked, though. Slept very little and very uncomfortably Friday night, was up ridiculously early this morning (5am, hello whut) and even though we crashed for a couple hours after getting back home, I still feel totally off-kilter and I'm beginning to wonder, then, why the hell I haven't gone to bed like four hours ago.
Because it's the weekend, and a long weekend, and an extra-long weekend for my having taken Friday off as well, and staying up 'til 2:30 or 3 in the morning is just what I do. But I'm turning in here as soon as I've posted.
On the upside, though, I've still got several days of weekend left and hopefully the weather will stay better and I don't have to go back to work until Wednesday. So.
To-do list. You? Shall be tackled tomorrow.
