'Kay. So. I had mentioned the bitten tail a couple days ago. There's more missing by now. I don't see any signs of rot, no reddening at the base of fins, no darkening edges, no damage to any of his other fins. I'm still thinking biting, but I'm not quite sure how to convince him to stop if he is tearing it off in bits and pieces. Eck.

Compared to a month ago:

and to earlier pics:

*sigh* I suppose it's natural he'd trim it back if it's so long that it bothers him/weighs him down; I do the same thing to my hair, after all. But...still.

And I do hope I'm not wrong about the rot, truly. *keeps a close eye on him*

You're not wrong about the rot. I'm too lazy to link to my D's pics but this icon is from *before* he went to town on his tail. Now it's about half its normal size. They just do that....and no, there's no way to talk them out of it. It's a shame 'cause they're so much less pretty with bitten tails, but if a betta's determined to bite his tail it's next to impossible to dissuade him. Can't exactly muzzle him, yanno? D:

*snickers* No, I suppose not. Although it reminds me of somebody's icon on that Betta comm where they've photo-shopped one of those satellite-dish-type collars that are meant to keep dogs from scratching at their ears after surgery or what-not onto their fish. *snrk*

*glares at Nataku* Soo. I'm a little annoyed, yes, but...gosh darnit, I still love 'im. Tail or no tail. ^_^;

Well, atleast you can see the problem, I may be dealing with internal parasites with the Chin-po's. One of them has shrunk. But he's still kicking. And eating, eating is a good sign. I added parasite remover tabs, however I think it got my shrimp. Oh well. I am sure the Po's had fun eating them.... >_>'

...How perfectly morbid. Rest in peace, little shrimp. And swift healing to the Chin-Po's if they are in fact battling parasites. Eeyech.
