Fishies. Yes again.

tj_dragonbladeThe digi-cam was still under warranty but apparently beyond repair; we managed to get it totally replaced. And ye gods, but the replacement is much snazzier than the original.
Aaaaanyway. Y'all know what that means, right?
Fish Pics!
PearlyBlack dude finally has a name, too. After having discarded those mentioned previously along with the likes of Shinigami, Hades, Tsume, Raven, Envy, Kali, several variations of Black Dragon and so on and so forth, I finally found his name lurking in the annals of Arthurian legend while considering Merlin. Thus.
Meet Mordred:
He's totally not that purple to the naked eye, but isn't it gorgeous anyway? ^_^ The gallery has a not-so-great pic that was taken waaay up close with less zoom and no flash; his color is a little closer to what I'm seeing there but it's still lacking. In reality, his body is that silver-grey black, with a pearly blue-green iridescence to it. His fins are more greyish-orchid-pink with a coppery-purple iridescence under the blue-green, plus the vivid red streaks down the two in front. Either way, though, I've never run across coloring quite like it - he's like a little black rainbow - and gods but I do love him for it. Especially with the freckles in the fins. Nataku has them too, on his dorsal fin, but they don't stand out the way Mordred's do.
And don't forget about Konzen!
He was timid with his own reflection for about a day; he settled in right quick and now he flares up grandly at the slightest provocation. Even at me, sometimes. ^_^ His 'beard' is gorgeous, too, and I actually caught a pic of it. In the gallery. ^_^ He's so golden and bright, though, even with the black lattice of his scales. He's a bit of a snob to the camera, too, when he's not bristling on the edge of hostile-attack-mode. Keeps turning away with an air that I can't help but describe as totally disinterested and disdainful, and wafts his way back to sulk in his plants. But I? Am a patient photographer. Plus, the huffy-posturing makes for good pics anyway.
I'd entertained notions of naming them as a 'set', y'know - Ukoku and Koumyou, Eclipse and Raenef, even Yin and Yang (or...vice versa, however that'd go). But their personalities didn't quite pan out that way.
Stuck a pic of Nataku with his new plant in the gallery, too. He's such a big fish by now, and his fins are much longer than anyone else's. He's fiery and beautiful and he gets just furious when I pay attention to one of the others. ^_^
The tear in Goujun's tail is mending nicely, too. He also gets jealous when my attention is elsewhere, but he gives me so much affection when I do turn to him. ^_^ Hee.
Kiro, I hope Thursday treats you better than today did. ^_^ *hugs*
