Lighting my candle for Benjamin, who would have been 26 today. May his unmatchable Gemini-Monkey spirit be raising eyebrows in whatever afterlife he's wandered into by now.

Orgy - Blue Monday
He loved the New Order original. He would have loved the Orgy cover, had it been released a couple weeks sooner so he'd've had the chance to hear it.

Apocalyptica - The Unforgiven
In addition to being a huge Metallica fan, he also loved the odd and the offbeat. Apocalyptica, and their beginnings as a cello quartet rendering Metallica tunes, fit his tastes perfectly. Mom would tell him to turn 'that crap' down, with the Metallica? He'd pop this on instead. ^_^

Totally unrelated to any of that: solaas, I got the postcard you dropped in the mail yesterday! Thank you - it came at a time that really managed to cheer me up. ^_^

My condolences. Birthdays are tough after the fact, but remembering them becomes uniquely important. Take care and I hope the fond memories outweigh the painful ones.
