Off the top of your head, right now, what ten 'ships would you likely drop what you're doing to read fic for. Or, alternately, what are the top ten ships that you'll give a fic a chance for, or that you've been dying to write, or that you've been dying to read.... These can be new loves, old flames, or something in between. Explain if you like, but you don't have to. Then tell us 3 things these ships say about you. Leave a comment about what you think these ships say about me, then repeat in your own LJ.

Nii/Kou - Bheguhhgh. Yes. There are so few of us writing this pairing...any time I'm aware of new ficcage, I've got to have it *yesterday*. It is such a fascinating, complex 'ship to explore. Not to mention all the canon implications; and the fact that they're both so *sexy* does not hurt things at all. Not one little bit.

Gojyo/Hakkai - So good together. Two halves of a nicely balanced whole. Wonderful complements to one another's personalities. A relationship so very many levels deep. Granted, there's a lot more of this out there. But it's still nice to find something *good*, that does them proper justice.

Tenpou/Kenren - Much like the Gojyo/Hakkai, but worlds different at the same time. Harder to find; Gaiden fics don't seem quite so profuse as those for the principal timeline. But as far as writing...these two are entirely too much fun.

Tenpou/Goujun - I don't think I've actually run across this one. But I've got bunnies spawning quietly in the corners of my brain for them, and I think there's a lot of potential for serious ficcage. I don't think they would last, in the long run. But that's part of what appeals about the exploration - what might lead them to one another, what sorts of things might occur over the course of learning that they're not Meant To Be.

Kenren/Goujun - Again, I've never seen this done. Have one bunny that still nibbles at the back of my mind every now and again. And I don't think they'd last, either. As a matter of fact, I have difficulty envisioning them even in any sort of actual relationship. It's more a matter of raw attraction and/or hatesex, really; but again. It would be fun to explore.

Kou/Doku - Strangely, there is very little of this out there. But I do like them together. And would probably write more, had NiiKou not so completely subverted my attention.

Sanzo/Goku - While I would have thought that this would be *the* most popular Saiyuki pairing, I don't run across much of it. Granted I don't do much searching, for ficcage of any sort (time! time!); but...when I do come across something that does them justice, it's always a nice treat.

And slipping to other fandoms to round out the list...

Kenshin/Sano - I had the darnedest time finding fics for this pair back when I was looking. But I love them together. They blend well, balance each other well, all that jazz. They flow so naturally...

Tatsumi/Watari - Granted, I've yet to read any YnM ficcage. Or even to be deeply enough into it to say *why* I want to see these two together, other than that they seem far more interesting than any of the other characters and they seem...like they'd go well together? And hey, if anyone cares to rec me anything starring them, I'd be most grateful...

Trowa/Wufei - Gundam Wing does not have the pull on me that it once did; but I would still love to see more quality fics with these two. Very rare, but very...fun. I was beginning to explore it before I stumbled onto Saiyuki...

What do these ten say about me? Hmm. That my tastes tend to drift all over the place? That even so, I gravitate toward the complementary-opposites type of pairings? That I like pretty characters who have a lot to offer one another? (shrug) Mmeh.

I can rec you a good TatsumixWatari fic. Except... its also MurakixWatari (in a pretty much entirely consensual way strangely enough). Watari is wonderful in it... very smart and dark. And Tatsumi is lovely. There are some sweet moments between them ^^

It's called The Doll, but there's also the Grey Knight series which is rather sweet too ^^

Sanzo/Goku - While I would have thought that this would be *the* most popular Saiyuki pairing, I don't run across much of it.

There's plenty being written; it's arguably one of the most-written pairings, at least on effeff.net and the like.

...However, most of the stories being written for the pair are godawful piles of dreck. Bad characterization. Bad grammar/spelling/grasp of coherent language. Cliche, overused plots, most of which involve any number of female tween-ish ideas of love and commitment and sexual attraction being foisted upon a pair of unabashedly masculine adults. You know the type, I'm sure. *sweatdrop*

Though it has been known to happen, rarely do the pair get the justice they deserve. I don't exactly have the creator's permission, but I'll put up this nice Recommendation List for your perusal. There are some damn good Sanzo/Goku fics there. I recommend "Monkey Vs. Robot", myself. :D

The numbering still makes me cringe. Even though it revolves around the Buddhism numbering system, but names are names. Minekura does that to provide hintages, assuming the fans would actually get it -- no, hopes on that one. And numbers are still numbers to me... The imagination of having the entire Saiyuki cast walking around in Seseame Street world as the number of the day (runs off before it gets worst).

Yeah, same here. The numbering is just getting more annoying by the day. I used to not mind it, but now I'm like, "Errrgh, just spell out their names, already!"

In my estimation, the only one of real value is Homura/Goku - 69. Hehehehe.

There's the reason for the sometimes stupid monkey. That would have been the greatest plan ever. Although, Goku is ever so conviced to travel with Sanzo, but Sanzo doesn't have any choice and the monkey won't leave him alone. Minekura also mentioned about having Chin Iisou on the trip with them, but that was discarded for her idea of doing so (laughs).

But he does has some jealousy that Gojyo and Hakkai has a better relationship than he and the monkey. Is not shown, but is there at some point because Sanzo is always in deniel (laughs).

I was glad too... But he's forever in Hakkai's heart.
