Turns out the book is out of print. Which explains the $50 price tag for new on Amazon. Good god. I've been scouring local new and used book shops without turning it up all week, so used from Amazon it is. Shipping brings it up to just about twice the original cover price, but that's better than $50. Too bad I didn't pick it up a few years back in the bookstore when I originally saw it. >_< *curses procrastinatory habits and lack of foresight*
*settles in to wait for book* Hopefully it'll be here by the end of next week. Meanwhile, there's still more fanfic to discover. It's really pretty awesome - most of what I've run into hasn't been utterly terrible. I'm used to wading through lots of crap in new fandoms to find the scattered good stuff, but...either I've just been incredibly lucky, or this a fandom that consistently turns out high quality as the norm. Either way, I'm quite happy. My old obsession is new again and highly fucking addictive, I might add!
