It's an adaptation of a Russian tale in four parts, treated more or less as a Gaiden Reinc fic. It's engrossing and enchanting and very well adapted. There's a table at the beginning of the first chapter that makes it very easy to match names to characters, but in truth the principal players are quite recognizable regardless. Kenren sets out on a quest to regain his father's favour, in essence. It is Konzen who urges him to go, and who calls in a favor owed to have Goujun accompany Kenren. They originally set out to steal a golden monkey from Nataku, without success. The story follows the pattern of 'I'll give you what you want if you can first do this for me', and the pair must journey farther and grow more along the way. Tenpou joins in after the second failed task and lovely GouTenKen developments ensue. Rating goes all the way up to NC17.

See, finding unread gems like this is a bonus to the whole Goujun compilation thingy. ^_^ Which reminds me, I really need to get that poll up.
