Points of FAIL:
1) Round 4pm today, apparently one of the local radio stations announced that Redoubt had blown. GIS-guy at work, however, had been keeping close tabs on the official monitoring site and no, no it really hadn't. 'Bout 4:30 there were all sorts of news items popping up on the order of 'Despite rumours, no, the volcano hasn't erupted blah blah'. Probably some fuckwit DJ thought it'd be fun or good ratings or some other stupid shit to stir up public adrenaline. Or something. -_-x
Popular opinion has it that the volcano will blow soonish - GIS-guy even started a betting pool 'round the office on When. I'm just really really hoping that when it does, winds will be favorable (i.e., not carrying ashfall to Anchorage, pleasethx). Not out of any sort of fear or anxiety, but because I'm rather lazy, and far from rich, and absolutely do not want to deal with all of this. *sigh*
2) This morning I slipped/fell on snowy sidewalk at work. Because the maintenance folks only salt half of the sidewalk. Half. Naturally, right? That makes so much sense. -_-x
No injuries or nothin. Just a bruised ego at the thought of anyone who may've caught that little moment out their window.
Points of minor awesome:
1) My soda-of-choice in the school's vending machine (Dr. Pepper, fwiw) is programmed to slot/code/entry number 58. ^_^
2) One of AJ's friends about the neighborhood asked him if my Jeep was really a real Transformer (on account of the Autobot emblem on the back window, see). *snrk*
Points of otherness:
1) Start my second quarter of school tonight. I appear to be the only chick in this class, so far. \m/ ETA: Or not. 'Nother chick showed up late.
2) I'm in the same classroom as both courses last quarter. With the same damned uncomfortable chairs. But a different teacher, at least.
