I'm having a mommy-moment.
( Adventures on the Dark Side )
Elsewise. I had my first experience with firing today. Roundaboutly, as she was through a temp agency and I didn't have to actually have any face-to-face termination conversation with her. Eheh. *rubs sheepishly at back of head* Yes, I'm a bit of a coward, I admit. But. While I'm sure I'll have to actually have that ever so wonderful experience somewhere down the road, I'm glad at the moment to have the temp agency as a buffer this time. She...just wasn't working out. Slack work ethic. And as it turns out, the other girl that I hired-hired (not through a temp agency) is working out far better than I could have hoped. So she'll be moving into the newly-vacated position, and we'll see how we run with just three...er, minions. In the nicest sense of the word. ^_^; They're all highly capable, and December and January are historically our slowest months. So we should be fine. And the OT pay is a nice little supplement for all the extra time put in.
Mmmhh...what else. *glances up at hair* Ah. Yeah. Since I went ahead and committed and cut bangs into my hair Thanksgiving (which I wouldn't have done if they couldn't be blended back into my usual hairstyle for workdays, so maybe it's not exactly a committment), I experimented with Tenpou-hair the rest of the weekend. It...ah. Not entirely bad, but it'll take some practice. And a straightening iron. I look like a fecking poodle.
And! Writing progress! Not on the sappy fic I mentioned before, or on the short-smutty piece that hit me after that, but on a piece I wrote back in August and got beta'd and then left sitting for a couple of months. ^_^; It feels good to make progress again, to have a finished 'product' in sight. ^_^
...And I think that's it.
