*stabs a triumphant fist into the air*

I? Have just spent the last two hours in a battle of wits with Napster to retrieve play-ability (and more importantly burn-ability) for the 14 songs I bought from them last year.

As of now, I do believe I've won.

Soon as this CD finishes burning, we'll see if I believe correctly.

*waits smugly*

Ah. Yeah. And the icon? Go here.

Yes, my moods are bouncing all over the fricking place these days. ^_^;

===Edit===
BOOyah! *does a tiny little victory dance* TJ wins! And is done with Napster forever! Wahahahahaha!

Really, there's nothing quite like a most-loved classic.

Bill Withers - Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone

Or quite like finding a tasteful, respectful cover of that classic by an artist for whom one has developed at least an occasional degree of liking.

Lenny Kravitz - Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone

Nngh. Beautiful bluesy mellow melancholy, that one. See me alliterate at 0130, yes! Change the 'she' for a 'he' and there's all kinds of fic-bunnies waiting to spawn, too. But. I'll leave that alone.

Since the smooth-jazz audiophile in me seems to be driving the buss--buss? Bus, maybe--tonight, and since Lenny is a lovely example of lovely music from a lovely mixed-blood musician, I present an offering from another lovely mixed-blood musician:

Slash - Obsession Confession

Yes, that's the Slash, of Guns N' Roses glory-days fame. It's a complete one-eighty-and-then-some from the GNR sound, though. Very flamenco, I think is the word. This...if I remember correctly, it was a b-side instrumental variation of a song he did for the soundtrack of some obscure Tarantino film in like '96 or '97. I do love it. It makes me wonder what it would sound like if Slash decided to do an entire album of bluesy-jazz flavored stuff. I'd buy it.
