Sharing my good fortune...
Oct. 16th, 2005 12:58 amBack in January, I posted about my Depeche Mode going missing, if you'll recall. Last night, I finally got hold of the two songs I'd been jonesing for off the disappeared CDs. I still must replace them in full one of these days, but this will help to tide me over. So, because finding them has made me so happy, I share.
Depeche Mode: Dangerous
A touch on the cheesy side--it is a b-side, to be fair--but still something I've loved from the first. Has a bit of a Nii-Kou-potential flavour to it, too.

"You wear guilt/Like shackles on your feet/Like a halo in reverse"
Mmph. See, I knew there was a reason I was craving this song! Hakkai, anyone? Yesh. The whole song works for Gojyo/Hakkai and even Goku/Sanzo tones. Besides it's just this dark lovely thing, and I love the way that Dave Gahan and Martin Gore harmonize on it. Dave's got that signature-DM silk-and-black-velvet-seduction voice to carry the vocal weight, and Martin garnishes it so nicely with that subtle little crystalline treble--it's a darkly-gorgeous audioscape. Which reminds me that in addition to a new DM album out, I've discovered that Martin put out another solo album in 2003 and what I've heard of it on yahoo radio is wow-worthy so I'm definitely going to have to pick that one up too because I really do love his voice. Swear to god, tell the husband that CDs is really all I want for anniv/xmas/bday in a couple of months. Seriously. I'd be good, like that. Gift certs for CDs, even, if he doesn't care to deal with a List of all the titles I want. Ohh, and if we're talking gift certs, then he can get me enough to catch up some on my manga collecton too while he's at it.

Because DM holds some kind of crown in remixing, and this one nice sort of extended-trance feel to the source material.
'Kay. Time to catch the 1:30 re-running of this week's FMA ep and then probably to bed. With a glorious earful. ^_^
