Well, we had a couple groups stop by last night, and Inyx-sama was able to move a bit of merchandise. The art she previewed is fantastic, yes (Ban the pants! ^_^), and will sell very well for her once it reaches the button stage. She showed pics of Jesus blessing her yaoi paddle, and shared the Vic Mignogna cherry stem as well. ^_^
Unfortunately, most of the people who showed up were not drinkers of fruity alcoholic beverages, and she's left with a sh*tload of the stuff that we're having a ridiculously hard time getting rid of. -_-;
We stayed up quite late chatting with the charming Zalia (dressed as Zell) and the equally-charming![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
yoinkmyspleen, which was fun. Especially for a non-conversationalist like myself. Topics drifted every which-way over the backdrop of bizarre and obnoxious fare playing on CN. Zalia, I solemnly swear to you that I will never ever ask you to say 'trousers' simply for the sake of hearing it said. ^_^ Even if it is a fabulous word. That's the thing that I love about British English - it uses so many words as a matter of course that American English tends to leave in the thesaurus.
Today...has had its ups and downs. Tenpou's hair does not look quite so good as it did yesterday, but. Kenren looked fabulous while he was here. The skull was just amazing. And more people seem to recognize the pair than Tenpou alone. I'm hearing a lot of "Oh, it's Kenren! Can I take your picture? ...Oh, hey, look, it's Tenpou too!!" Eh heh.
Solo, I've been mistaken for Nii, Muraki, and various other characters whose names I didn't recognize. *shrug* Ah well.
Ran into a Goku-and-Nataku pair (so cute!!) and a Reload-Gojyo manning a fan-market table run by the Ukoku and Sanzo from yesterday. I bought a Goujun fanart print. A tastefully naked Goujun, rather sexy even if he does have nipples. ^_^; My soul belongs to the dragon, though I like the composition of the pic as a whole more than the art style itself. It has Goujun, and it has ocean waves. Together. Other than that...ee. I'm afraid it's relatively un-remarkable.
Also ran across a Hakkai-with-Hakuryuu cosplayer, and had Kenren pose for a little cross-incarnation photo.
Also snapped a pic ETA: which didn't turn out so well of a fabulous Seiten Taisei all over a beautiful full-veil Sanzo, who did a remarkable job of remaining in character (I only saw one smile crack). This was outside the Saiyuki panel, where we also ran intojibii and thefacelessevil (at last!)! *does the dance of I've-met-April!*
Tenpou and Kenren went over quite well at the Saiyuki panel. Eheh. Apparently, much to my shyly-self-conscious-embarrassment, TJ Dragonblade is a name that's recognizable to some degree, too. Kenren introduced me, there was an 'Oh!' and a murmur from the back of the room, and...well, I turned flaming red. And kept turning red, especially when we did the fan-service shots. Which could have been so much better if I'd been less embarrassed. ^_^; Regardless. I'd like to see the shots that were taken;jibii, thefacelessevil - I know you guys were front-row for this, but I cannot for the life of me recall if either of you had a camera out. If you do have pics, though, can I please see? ^_^;;
A couple of names I recognized were there too -guanyin_kun, new_kate...aw, crap. There were probably more. My memory just fails.
After the panel, we followed Joe and April (who were fabulously adorable as Daisuke and Kia, btw!) out to the courtyard for a Heat Guy photo shoot withsadieko as Boma and merichan as Kyoko, with her dog Laika as Monica. Much fun was had. ETA: merichan has pics up with amusing commentary already, for the curious.
Unfortunatedly, Kenren's glomping of a passing Kakashi during this time resulted in a tragic wardrobe malfunction as the skull pendent-thingy, weakened by an earlier Kenren-glomping-by-fangirl, broke. T_T
Inyx-sama had been planning to change to Duo for the GW meet-and-greet anyway, so we figured we'd find someone with some super-glue to fix the skull and Kenren could come back to play afterward.
Hit the GW thing, the highlight of which was the reception that Treize got when he stepped in and the fact that he had no idea what he was stepping into; he was just popping in on panels at random and happened to hit GW by accident and receive a standing ovation (his uniform was amazing). ^_^ He was fabulous, though. And yes I have pics.
Unfortunately, the bare-chest binding necessary for Kenren took a turn for the worse as the day went on. Tape is not comfortable, alas, and far more adhesive than we'd realized; Inyx-sama, I feel so bad for you still and the chunks of skin you sacrificed for the sake of cosplaying my pairing half a day. T_T
We briefly considered making an attempt at battle-damaged-and-bandaged Kenren, but...well, you see, in the course of gently scrubbing adhesive from the raw wounds on Kenren's back and all, Tenpou's hair was attacked by humidity and ended up bearing much closer resemblance to Hwan. Eheh.
Thus, sadly, my adventures in cosplaying are more or less done. I put on comfortable pants, tied the hair back, and kept the rest of the costume. 'Cause I love the labcoated look. And I've gotten accustomed to the tie. And the cig. And the sock-sandal look. ^_^
Currently chatting with Joe (and Folken! ^_^) in the courtyard; Inyx-sama is checking in with Westin folk.
Lessee...also metzania at the GW thing, after all these years; prettykitty_aya, and several other names that I just generally recognize from GW fandom.
Have also figured out that it's not a lack of wireless; it's something amiss in my PDA. Alas. T_T
Maybe I can get some fic-work done...
Also. I cannot believe there's a Spartacus cosplayer here!! *dies* I gotta try to get his pic for Steph, since she's the only person out there I know of who also knows who he is. ^_^ ETA: which I didn't manage to do. But I might turn something up online.
!!! And Joe offers to sketch something for me! *delighted* Mm. What shall it be?
