tj_dragonblade: (Lancer *snrk*)

Amusement!

Okay, so. We're all at Walmart, picking up various sundry wal-mart-ish necessities, and I see this girl in a t-shirt bearing the Superman logo holding hands with a guy wearing a shirt emblazoned with the Batman logo. I'm snrk-ing up a storm to myself over the unintended slashy goodness as they walk past. Not that I'd explain it to anyone. Hence the snrking to myself. Except that my husband gets this funny look on his face and says 'What're you looking so smug about?' So of course I pull out the 'ahem-*cough*-nothing' and we go on about our business.

But I am still amused.

Batteries for AJ's lightsaber, check. Extra glo-sticks for the jack-o-lanterns, check. 'Nother bottle of kiwi lemonade, check. Ohh, that's good stuff. ^_^

Ooh! Ooh! And on the way home, I heard new Depeche Mode!! It sounds quite a bit more 'signature DM' than the last album, too!! It's called 'Precious'!! And given my long-standing DM-fan-ness, that of course leads me to this:

Precious, my Precious--I must haves the Precious!

*ducks*

And now, I'm due for the nightly reading of Green Eggs and Ham. Complete with occasional lines made so dramatic as to be worthy of Shakespeare, as recited by AJ. Of course. ^_^ If you'll please excuse me.

A running joke between Brad and I. In the Justice League aspect of DC? Batman holds the harisen and uses it repeatedly on Supes. Of course Superman is the bitchiest uke of all. *snickers*

I still need to find someone to draw me a picture of a chibi Batman harisening a just as chibified Superman. With the prerequiste 'BAKA!' being shouted at the same time. Yes, my mind is on crack.

On that note, i'm off to bed. Doc appointment of my own thursday and a full workday.

*snickers* Bad enough that my husband already gives me Looks during Smallville when Lex and Clark are having particularly slash-conducive moments, but. That? *points above* You realize this is going to make it quite impossible for me to watch JL with him and keep a straight face, don't you?

*eyes the long-unused Drawing pencil warily* Hmmm...

...your icon? So cute. I wanna know who he is, where he's from, and if it would cost me anything to watch him in action. *paws*

*cough* *twitches a kitten-ear at you* What?

"Precioussss": I TOTALLY thought that when I saw your music selection. Glad to know my mind's got good company. ^_^

DC!slash: Dude, no. I mean....yeah, there is a *lot* of potential there, but seeeeeeeriously, if you've gotta slash Batman (which, yikes, I am killing my childhood innocence SOwillingly), it's so gotta be with Robin and/or Nightwing, depending on which timeline you follow.

However? This does mean that every time my phone goes off now, it's gonna remind me of this post. (I have the original Batman theme as my ringer.) ^___^;;;

Additionally, the original shirt-wearing couple amuses me. It would have been funnier if she was in a Wolverine shirt and he in Batman, though. Cross-publishing slash! Romeo and Juliet, comic-style!! Oh, the potential! Oh, the angst! XDDDDD

Green Eggs and Ham: Oh, has he gotten hold of the Butter Battle Book yet? Because *THAT* one does *very* well with operatic vocal intonations. I would know. >_>

The icon. Old-school anime. Robotech. His name (in the English language re-versioning, at least, and I don't know where or how one might get ahold of original un-molested Japanese versions) is Lancer, and my husband could tell you a lot more about him than I could, probably. Heck, AJ could tell you more about him--the kid's four and a Robotech fanatic. *beams proudly* Someday I'm going to get all 14 of those DVDs watched, and I'll have a better grasp. As it is, I can tell you that I'm drawn to him as a likely favorite mostly for the fact that he seems to be a relatively carefree laidback fun kind of personality. And. He's also a cross-dressing idol-singer/rock-star who was easily mistaken for a woman by the rest of the cast until he took off his makeup. And his shirt. ^_^

DC!slash: Personally, the only DC couple I've ever 'felt' was a vague passing thought that really, Batman and Wonder Woman should hook up sometime. *shrugs* Which isn't even slash. But I know what you mean with the killing of childhood innocence bit. Is the reason I have a very hard time getting into Trek!slash, no matter the raging potential I can see in retrospect. And why a part of me still balks at the idea of X-Men!slash. Except that I keep running across little bits of well-written well-characterized Logurt and that stubborn resistence slips more and more with each instance. ^_^;

Cross-publishing slash! Romeo and Juliet, comic-style!! Oh, the potential! Oh, the angst!

*dies laughing* Ohh, indeed. I hope you realize that I've been stuck with the image of Batman soliloquizing under Wolverine's balcony all day, now, thankyouverymuch. *bashes head against desk* With the original Batman theme playing through the back of my mind, no less.

And the Butter Battle Book! I love that one! I don't know if AJ has a copy, though...must find out. Dr. Seuss is a god--THE god--among children's writers. ^_^

Yay for the slashy t-shirts! And new Precious! (I haven't actually heard it yet, but I was giggling at your post.)

And yay for Dr. Seuss! Got 'Fox in Socks'? *looks innocent*

[identity profile] tj-dragonblade.livejournal.com 2005-10-14 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
Fox in Socks...mmh. I'll have to look through his bookcase; he might. And if he doesn't, he needs it. Because Dr. Seuss is essential. ^_^

Fox in Socks was my favourite. Still is. I still have my copy, tatty around the edges from 25 years of love. No you can't have it! It's my preciousss! Wait, wrong thread....

I'm evil. That book is dangerous. Even says so on the little warning sign on the inside cover.

Oo! Oo! Now I need to make myself a tweedle poodle beetle noodle bottled paddle battle icon!
