Sai's head is an interesting place to explore, I'm finding. I try to convey it from the point of him being able to recognize that he feels things, knows things, but also not necessarily being able to always identify those things properly, at least not without a lot of pondering. I'm really glad it doesn't come across as making him stupid, because I completely agree - he's absolutely not. He's a fascinating and engaging character, and writing him is just challenging enough to be fun.
