Yo, ho, yo ho...and why don't I have a Pirates icon?

I picked up the soundtracks to Pirates 2 & 3 over the holidays, because despite their over-the-top moments here and there the PotC movies resonate with me on all sorts of levels that I feel more than I can verbalize, and the music is part of that and helps evoke that sense of...joy. Enjoyment. Liking-ness, excitement? *waves hands* Vocab seems to be switched off tonight. But. Hans Zimmer does all manner of awesomeness with musical scores, and these two are no exception. There's a playful epic grandeur that I love about it. Thus. I subject you to a handful of the bits that keep sticking in my head.

Up is Down

One Day

Drink Up Me Hearties

Davy Jones

Wheel Of Fortune

As usual, if links are wrong, yell and I'll fix. Enjoy. ^_^

Those scores are part of why i adore that trilogy to the fullest. I'm very rarely impressed with films nowadays and the PotC, and it's sequels all are favorites of mine. I've seldom seen such well done writing, much less PLAYING among the actors, the crew and everyone. The score was just icing in the cake! XD

The whole mood of the trilogy is just very playful underneath everything, and it makes for grand adventure story-telling at its most entertaining. The music pairs perfectly to that and makes the whole thing an experience worth immersing the mind in for those couple hours apiece. Good stuff, definitely. Very good stuff. ^_^
