tj_dragonbladeI've a couple more Saiyuki-fic-related questions, if anyone would care to answer...
Are Sanzo's 'leathers' officially...well, leather? I can't imagine skin-tight leather beneath the robes would be entirely functional, comfortable, or feasible. And it really doesn't *look* like leather to me, either; but that's how I usually see it referred to. Is there an official notation somewhere that what he wears is leather? Or is is more a fanon-invention to avoid descriptions like 'that skin-tight black sleeveless-shirt and long-glove-thingies'?
What exactly does 'Tenkai' refer to--is it a place (i.e., 'heaven') or more of a time-frame (i.e., 'the Tenkai era')? Or have I totally inferred the wrong sort of meaning from contextual use?
And what's 'tankoubon' mean, while I'm at it?

I believe Tankubon should be tank... Since Reload Book 1-3 has that as a target point on its book.

Date: 2004-08-06 12:22 am (UTC)Tenkai is equvialent to Buddhist Heaven. This doesn't just apply to Minekura's version of Saiyuki, but it also applies to the original legend as well.

Certainly I can't remember ever hearing any of the guys even making references to what Sanzo has under his robes, LOL. Although they should, since in yaoi, they have to know how to take it off. ^__^
